About this Ensemble

The Nassau Suffolk Youth Jazz Band was founded in 2016 and is comprised of student musicians in grades six through eight from across Long Island. The focus of the ensemble is to explore the different styles that make up the jazz idiom. The students will develop their improvisation and sight reading skills in a wide variety of jazz styles, and perform bi-annually at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts and Madison Theater at Molloy College.
