Our Mission

Nassau Suffolk Performing Arts is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1994 in order to provide talented student musicians from across Long Island and the metropolitan area with additional rehearsal and performance opportunities in the concert band, jazz band, and vocal jazz genres. We are committed to offering our members a high quality educational and performance-based program that will provide enriching experiences and memories that will foster a lifetime love of music.

May 5 Concert Information

The 30th Anniversary Nassau-Suffolk Spring Concerts will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Madison Theatre at Molloy University. Below, you will find the schedule and concert dress information for all of our ensembles, as well as concert ticket information. 

 

Report Time/Concert Schedule

Students should arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the times listed below.

1:00pm Concert - Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble

  • Jazz Ensemble: 11:15-11:45am sound check
  • Jazz Band: 12:00-12:30pm sound check

4:30pm Concert - Youth Band and Concert Band

  • Concert Band: 2:45-3:15pm sound check
  • Youth Band: 3:30-4:00pm sound check

7:00pm Concert - Honor Band and Wind Symphony

  • Wind Symphony: 5:15-5:45pm sound check 
  • Honor Band: arrive at 5:15pm for warm-up and tuning, 6:00-6:30pm sound check

 

Concert Dress Information

Concert Band and Wind Symphony Dress

  • Ladies: 
    • All black - dress pants, a dress, or black skirt/black top (no jeans or leggings, skirts must be at or below the knee)
    • Black dressy shoes (no sneakers or Uggs) 
  • Gentlemen:
    • Black suit or tuxedo
    • White buttoned-down shirt with bow tie
    • black dress shoes (no sneakers) and black dress shoes (no ankle socks)

Youth Band and Honor Band Dress

  • Girls: 
    • All black - dress pants, a dress, or black skirt/black top (no jeans or leggings, skirts must be at or below the knee)
    • Black dressy shoes (no sneakers or Uggs) 
  • Boys:
    • White buttoned-down dress shirt with a solid black tie
    • Black dress pants
    • Black dress shoes (no sneakers) and black dress shoes (no ankle socks)

Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble Dress

Dark suit, shirt and tie or all black. Black dress shoes (no sneakers). Skirts and dresses must be below the knee.

Important Concert Dress information for all ensembles

In consideration of your fellow musicians please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne on the day of the concerts.

Your financial support helps us to provide this opportunity and is deductible as allowed by law.

If you or anyone you know would like to support our efforts and make a tax-deductible donation to our non-profit organization, you will be listed in our concert programs during the 2024 concert season. By becoming a Friend of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts, you help to provide a positive, enriching program for youth and the arts.

Tickets are on sale now in person or by phone at Tilles Center Tantleff Box Office. To purchase tickets, please visit Tilles Center Tantleff Box Office in person Monday through Friday between 1 and 6:00pm or call 516-299-3100.

Tilles Center Tantleff Box Office is cashless and tickets are NOT available online.

Sign-up for the 2024 Nassau-Suffolk Alumni Band

In celebration of our 30th Anniversary Season, and in honor of our dear friend Gina Pellettiere, the Nassau-Suffolk Alumni Band will be performing on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 1 pm at Tilles Center. All alumni of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts are invited to participate.

Rehearsals will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 (Five Towns College), and Saturday, January 27, 2024 (location TBA).
