About this Ensemble

The Nassau Suffolk Jazz Band is comprised of student musicians in grades eight through twelve from across Long Island. The focus of the ensemble is for students to explore and become proficient in the different styles that make up the jazz idiom. The students will also work on expanding their knowledge of improvisation during the rehearsal process, and will perform a wide range of jazz repertoire at the bi-annual concerts.
