Wind Symphony
About this Ensemble

The Nassau Suffolk Wind Symphony features some of the finest musicians from high school bands across Long Island, providing them an opportunity to immerse themselves in professional style wind ensemble rehearsal and performance setting. Students will broaden their technical, musical and ensemble abilities through rehearsals and performances of a wide variety of concert band literature. Past guest soloists and clinicians who have worked with the Nassau-Suffolk Wind Symphony include New York Philharmonic members Joseph Alessi, Philip Smith, Stanley Drucker, and Eric Ralske, as well as composers Carl Strommen, Michael Markowski and Stephen Melillo. In 1999, 2000, and 2007, the Nassau-Suffolk Wind Symphony performed by invitation at the MENC Eastern Division Conference.
